It was on June 14, 1968 with the purchase of a Venetian graphometer, which began the collection of marine instruments. Gianni Gini on vacation in Cannes saw him shine in a shop window on the Croisette. Since then his passion for nautical instruments has led him to collect over 600: from the oldest ones to those built in the early 1900s, without forgetting the logbooks, precious manuscripts that testify life on board sailing ships and merchant ships that have made the history of navigation.
On June 21, 2001 the Museum was inaugurated in the ancient tower house of San Giovanni.
